Trauma & PTSD Counseling

An overwhelming majority of adults have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lives. If left unaddressed, trauma can manifest itself in any number of ways.

Common Symptoms of PTSD

  • Unwanted upsetting memories

  • Nightmares and flashbacks

  • Emotional distress or numbing

  • Feelings of guilt and/or shame

  • Negative thoughts about oneself

  • Decreased interest in activities

  • Feeling isolated

  • Chronic avoidance of situations that elicit trauma memories

  • Difficulty experiencing positive emotions

  • Trouble sleeping

  • Anger, anxiety, depression, and/or hopelessness

The most common diagnosis is "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder," but even those who do not meet full criteria may still be struggling. We understand the profound and lasting impact of trauma, and no one should suffer through it alone. One of the most painful consequences of trauma is the feeling of disconnection from others.
