Liza is a graduate from Columbia University School of Social Work. Prior to joining Comprehensive Therapeutic Services, Liza worked in addiction, specializing in the treatment of clients with co-occurring mental health diagnoses. She later performed tireless clinical work in a hospital setting, treating disadvantaged individuals suffering from Severe Mental Illness. Liza received postgraduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectic-Behavioral Therapy, and she has experience treating clients in individually and in groups. Liza is curious and open-minded, and her style is active, affirming, and engaged. She strives to create a comfortable and supportive environment in which clients can engage in healing self-discovery. Liza’s approach has been influenced primarily by modern analysis, object relations, and relational psychotherapy, and she integrates other approaches to best meet the needs of her clients. Liza aims to help individuals build insight and awareness, understand themselves and their feelings, and develop new patterns that are conducive to long-term personal satisfaction. She enjoys working with adults, and her specialties include substance abuse, existential issues, personality disorders, mood disorders, relationship issues, dating, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.
