Joseph earned his Masters Degree in Clinical Health Counseling at Eastern Kentucky University, where he was exposed to various clinical and research experiences. He found his passion conducting research on the motivational factors of human behavior, which strengthened his interest to work with individuals in a clinical capacity. Joseph received advanced training in Bereavement and Crisis Interventions and the treatment of individuals with Severe Mental Illness. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Joseph has practiced for years, specializing in Bereavement and Trauma, Perfectionism, Codependency, Gay Men’s’ Health, and LGBTQ+ with a focus on Adjustment Difficulties. He maintains a special interest with respect to cultural and subcultural acculturation. He is well versed in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy, Choice Theory, and Reality Therapy.
